Adult formation: An Altar in the World

I hope you will join me on Sunday mornings after worship as we read and discuss An Altar in the World by Barbara Brown Taylor. Taylor is an Episcopal Priest, a Professor of Religion at Piedmont College in Georgia, an author and a theologian. She sees that people have a yearning to be connected with the Divine but are so busy chasing after experiences that they miss the holy presence that is right in front of them. Her easy to read style and personal stories make this a great book to explore as a group as she takes us on a journey wherein ordinary tasks can become a point of connection with God and faith.

Copies of the book are available to purchase online at Barnes & Noble and Amazon. You can buy local and order your copy from the Silver Unicorn Bookstore in West Acton or other local book retailer. Each chapter/lesson stands alone so you can attend as often as you like. This is the study guide which coincides with An Altar in the World, by Barbara Brown Taylor. We will take a short break for coffee right after the Sunday morning service.
