EXPLORING THE SCRIPTURES

We are about to enter the season of Pentecost when Jesus’s disciples receive the Holy Spirit in the form of tongues of fire. But for us (and probably for the disciples most of the time) in-spiration is more humdrum than that. Perhaps certain verses of the bible, certain psalms, or passages from the gospels comfort and inspire us. We reach for them when we are under stress or struggling with pain or doubt. This month we will look at the verses from the bible that inspire us personally. Please bring along your own favorites to share with the group. We will start with the Pentecost reading below, but our discussion will focus mainly on the verses we all bring to the evening.
