Salvadoran & Guatemalan Fair Trade Crafts

Good Shepherd has been in a sister relationship with the small rural mountain community of El Ocotillo in El Salvador since 2001. The primary goal is friendship and accompaniment, and the highest priority for the families of El Ocotillo is educating their children in order to break the cycle of poverty, so this is the focus of our financial assistance. Simply put, education brings opportunity for a job and a regular income in El Salvador where most have neither.

We raise funds every year for the El Ocotillo Scholarship Fund, the goal of which is to enable youth in that community to continue their schooling through high school and attend university, which is literally life-changing as education is the only true way to a better way of life for them.

Hand crafted fair trade items from El Salvador and Guatemala will be on sale to support the scholarship fund in the Parish Hall following both services on Sunday, December 15
